Hi, We recently moved an ecommerce site to a SSL server and we are having problems processing order payments through PayPal. The customer receives a message after payment saying, "This invoice has already been paid. For more information, please contact the merchant." No payment is received and the order shows unauthorized. The change seems to have occurred around 1/1/19 as there were orders processed in December 2018. Any ideas?

No Andy, They are new order IDs and in sequence with old numbers

Thanks Andy, I will have the client check his PayPal settings and make sure things are correct there. We moved the site to the new server on 12/9/18. One order was processed correctly on 12/11/2018 so we thought everything was ok.

Should the transaction type be set to Sale or Authorize? Do I use the Pre-built payment solution option under IPN in Paypal?

You would probably want to set the choice to "sale" unless you were planning capturing the funds at a later date. In PayPal go to Settings > My Selling Tools > Instant payment notifications - you don't need any API settings. While you are there go to Website Preferences and set Auto Return to ON and get you PDT key to enter into the store PayPal admin page. Andy Please feel free to review / rate our software

Thanks for the info. The original problem was solved by phoning PayPal support. Here is their answer: "Your PayPal Account was setup in your Block Payments in your Seller Tools to block duplicate invoice numbers. If the invoice numbers have been used in the last 5 years, you will receive this error message. To resolve this issue, I have turned off the Duplicate Invoice Number Block in your PayPal Account."
One other thing. How do I set the options for the "How did you hear about us" drop down menu?
