This is more curiosity than a problem and there's almost certainly a logical answer as to why two settings are required.

With this setting in the includes file to show UK / European date format in the admin
$admindateformat=2;

Then why, once an order is clicked on, does the date at top centre of the order screen then show in the US format?
Adding the following to the includes file does correct the issue.
$dateformatstr = "dS F Y";

I would have thought the admindateformat setting would apply across the whole admin, without need for another setting.

Hi Steve
The reason there are two is because one is a parsable date format that can be used in the admin, such as...
2020-05-01 or 01/01/2020
And the other is a more free form date format that can be used in emails to customers, such as say Wed. 3rd May, 2020
