So my hosting company told me that my ECT website is running an old version of php that is no longer supported. If I purchase the php updater will it make my site compliant with the latest version of php (>7.4) and solve my problem? Sorry if this seems obvious I just wanted to check before I spent the money. Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe

Can you elaborate on 'the problem'? Also which version of ECT are you currently using & do you know if the ECT store relies upon any third party mods? To check the version of ECT, login to the admin & directly below the Store Admin menu text you will see the ECT version number.

Version 7.4 is not the latest version of PHP & active support ended on 28 Nov 2021 with security update support through to 28 Nov 2022.

PHP v 5.6 has been end of life since 31st Dec 2018. The latest release version of PHP is v 8.1 from 25 Nov 2021 with active support through to 25 Nov 2023 & security updates through to 25 Nov 2024. The ECT cart supports PHP v7 & v8 & works fine with those.

Currently v7.3.8 is the current Stability Release of E-Commerce Templates whilst v7.4.7 is the Advanced Release, soon to become the Stability Release once ECT V7.5 is released.

Make it as simple as possible, but not simpler.
