Hi,

A little bit of background information first. A website I worked on years ago uses ECT, it was a Joomla 2.5 installation, with an ECT store designed in Dreamweaver. It was still using PHP 5.6 and I can't remember which version of ECT. I have retired now but recently I oversaw an upgrade of the website to Joomla 3 and it now uses PHP 7.4.

Today the client contacted me to say they couldn't login at the back end of ECT. My first thought was, ECT needs updated too! So I purchased the updaters, and ran them successfully, however the back end login still doesn't work.

It's a bit of a strange one, I have the vsadmin login disabled and I have my own folder, as advised for security reasons, I have updated both. If I access vsadmin/login.php I see the ECT page as expected, and the words "login disabled". If I access myfolder/login.php I get a blank screen. It has been four years since I worked on the site, and everything has been working great up until now.

If I view page source of myfolder/login.php I see the contents of db_conn_open.php and includes.php.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated, I'm so rusty with all of this. I have searched the forum, and I did find someone with the same issue, but no solution.

Many thanks,
Gillian

Hi,

Problem solved, I had uploaded the vsadmin updater files to both vsadmin and myfolder, vsadmin worked, myfolder didn't work before or after update.

So I decided to try deleting myfolder, copying the vsadmin folder, enabling login for the new folder, now I can access the back end.

No idea why but it works. Thank goodness!

Gillian
