By default, PHP mail sends emails as the system user associated with the account, which results in the sender appearing as 'cPanelusername@hostname' instead of a valid email address.
To resolve this, I recommend configuring your website to send emails via SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). Using SMTP allows you to authenticate the outgoing emails and specify a valid "From" address, ensuring reliable delivery and passing validation checks.
I tried changing the settings to SMTP but no email is sent.

Their reply was to use PHPMailer but with that no email sends at all.
Plus I don't think that's the issue because with one website the orders emails from field sends correctly, just the mailing list emails don't.
And the other two sites both the orders emails and mailing list don't send with the correct from field.

Hi Shalene, Who's the host if you don't mind me asking? It does seem rather strange that you can't use PHPMailer to send out emails. Apart from the password what settings have you tried? The hosting company is Crazy Domains.
They sent me settings to use.
it just seems odd because I have 3 sites and with one the From field is correct in the Orders emails sent but has the system email in the mailing list that is sent.
The other 2 sites both show the system email in the From address for both the Orders and mailing list emails.
I will PM you if I can figure out how.

What they say to use in the SMTP Host just causes my browser to freeze and I have to shut everything down.
